What is SEO?
Wikipedia describes it as the following:

Search Engine Optimisation ("SEO")
is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Typically, the higher up a website appears in the search results list of the search engine, the more visitors it will receive.

The acronym "SEO" can also refer to "Search Engine Optimisers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimisation projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search Engine Optimisers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a website, SEO tactics should be incorporated into website development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe website designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that are easy to optimise.
What is SEA?
Studies have indicated that people browsing the Internet use search engines to find information about anything and everything on the Internet.

The acronym "SEA" stands for Search Engine Analysis or Search Engine Audit.

SEA is the analysis of a website which analysis can cover various points within the website. The most important part of any SEO project is the SEA. SEO should not be done before an effective analysis has been completed on the website in question.

SEA of a website involves:
  • Analysing the structure, design and layout of the website;
  • Analysing the Meta Tags and Keywords that search engines would use to rank the website in question
  • Measuring the website’s ranking of various links
  • Measuring the website against its competitors within the industry.
Such an audit will help determine on-site factors which may decrease a website’s ranking or visibility in the search engines, causing it to be shown lower in the search engines’ results lists or even be indexed incorrectly.
