As mentioned in a previous post, social media isn’t replacing the need for email marketing. Instead, the two can and must coexist to effectively reach the levels of online marketing that your business is capable of.
If you want true online success for your company, you need to be where your audience is. And they are scattered between social media platforms and email. The more people hear from you on the mediums they use, the better they will remember you.
Together social media and email marketing create:
1. A maximum marketing effect: • People are often too busy to check all their emails and could perhaps miss a few. But if you turn your newsletters into blog posts afterwards and tweet about them, they might get to read it at a later stage. • Depending on their mood or preference, an individual might favor email or social media as the best medium to gain information by. If you make it easy for them to receive your information when they want it, each marketing push will deliver better results. • Featuring your company messages on a variety of mediums also increases social sharing of your information to friends and family.
2. Group and database growth: If you add an email subscribe link on your social media platforms and social media links to your bulk email messages, you could improve your numbers on each. This way you will open more channels for communication. With email you can say more and provide your database with special discounts, tips and guidance. With social media you can make messages viral, build relationships and interact with your following on a personal level.
3. Enhanced leads and sales: With more eyes reading your messages, you will gain more targeted leads in as well. Eventually these leads could translate into more sales for your company.
Even if you see minor improvements at first, don’t give up. Integrating social media and email marketing will over time prove itself to be more rewarding. All you need to do is ensure that you create good quality content and that you are making it available to both social networks and your bulk email database. If you’ve got this covered, the rest will come naturally.
